When Should I Get a DSG Transmission Service?

Most manufacturers recommend servicing your DSG transmission every 60,000 km, although this may vary slightly depending on your vehicle model. Signs your DSG might need attention include:

Jerky or delayed gear changes

If your vehicle feels like it’s hesitating between gears or lurching during acceleration, it could be a sign that the DSG fluid is degraded or that the clutch packs aren’t operating smoothly. This type of gear change should feel seamless in a DSG-equipped car, so any roughness is worth getting checked before it leads to more serious damage.

Shuddering during take-off

A noticeable shudder or vibration when pulling away from a stop is a common symptom of worn DSG clutch packs or contaminated transmission fluid. Left untreated, it can place extra stress on the transmission and lead to costly repairs. Regular servicing helps prevent this by keeping the fluid clean and maintaining proper clutch operation.
